College Love
To a schoolboy the word "College" is wonderful and fascinating.It fills his
mind with new hopes and ideas. He dreams of the day when he will join a college and
live a free, pleasant life. His parents will stop treating him like a child. They will
let him have his own way in many things. These hopes of a schoolboy are not mere
illusions.
The very first thing a boy feels on entering a college is a sense of
great relief from the pressures of school. There, he was treated as a child who must be
pulled up, pushed around and forced into doing things which were considered good for
him.But in the College he feels that he has left his worries and cares behind him. He
is happy and infact loves this new change in his life. His proffessors talk to him as
they would to a young friend. He likes it and feels that, at last, he is somebody.
The sense of freedom and importance does him good, but more pleasures
of college are ahead. As he gets used to his liberty., he finds himself in the centre
of an interesting and intellectual life. He may not have expected this. He is
shy.But gradually he gets bold and discoveres new pleasures. The college union, the
debating club and other societies attract him Then there are pleasures of the sports
field.
There are other activities and other pleasures, too. There is a college
library. The student finds, perhaps for the first time, that there are other books
than the prescribed text books. He has access to all of them. Pleasures of reading,
he discovers, are many. He enjoys the company of great writers. This broadens
his sympathy and outlook. Love of College and its life is present in almost all the students
because of the glittering activities of the college. But different students have
different vision of their love for college.
For guys, the biggest attraction in college is the presence of
beautiful girls. Most of the students want to have themselves in the
colleges where there is co- education. They find the college life boring
without the shades filled with different girls in it. Infact mostly the guys
just go there to make a romantic relationship. So many students indulge in
such things which doesnot have long lasting and any benefit. They just flirt
with most of the girls. They donot take the burden of studies. Only girls
capture whole of their attention. Similarly some girls too, have the same
reason to enter the college. As we all know that this is the age when we
take our first step towards the young age. So such emotions and desires are
created in males as well as females. This is natural and you cannot deny
this fact. But students should not indulge in such activities. Their first
priority should be studies, because that is the only reason for coming to
college. And if you donot pay full attention towards your students then you
are putting your career and future in big danger.
Mostly students love college life because they know that here they are
not bound as they were in the school,they feel themselves independent and they take
wrong advantage of there freedom, they indulge in bad and extra curricular activities
and stop giving time to their studies and this leads to their failure in college.
This class of students has no aim or ambition to study. They come to college not for
study but just for fun and enjoyment.They usually belong to well-to-do families. They
love the college because they use it as a recreation resort. They come there to remove
boredom, and to kill time. Since they are not serious in their studies, they fail.
Such rotten eggs should be thrown out of the college boundary.
There is also a major class of students who love the college only
because of the extra curricular activities that are being taken place
at college. They give more time to sports than studies, their whole
world revolves just around to take part in different sports and win
as much medals and cups as they can. But I feel these students should
not do like this. They should realise that now they are in a growing
age and this is the best time to study. Once this time has gone, they
will never get it back. Nobody can bring time back and as every thing
has its proper time, this age is the best age for studies so students
should not waste their time in such activites. These students should
realise their responsibility as a child of their parents. Parents
have a firm belief in their child. They have their dreams associated with
their
child.
When they send him in college they have the satisfaction in
their mind that they are doing their responsibility in a good manner.
So it is the duty of the child to not to deceive his parents. He should
recognise his mistakes and try to give importance completely towards
his studies so that his future remains safe and his parents would not
get hurt in future. I am not saying that he should quit his other activities
completely. But remember one thing there must be a balance between both of
these
things.
When there is time of study, give your time to your studies. But when you
are
free then you can do whatever you want. And this is the key to success.
There are some students who dont like games and such activities,
infact they give too much importance to the studies. They never take
part in any other activity of the college, neither in sports nor in
speeches and such similar functions. These students are known as
the "Book Worms" in their gathering. Because recreation and
enjoyment are also necessary and they are good for health and you
always need a break so if you give too much time to your studies,
you can lose your health and get ill.
There is a category of studnets who are very intelligent and
sharp minded students. They are coonfident and full aware of their
responcibilites. They enter in college with a vision in their minds
and they want to make their future safe and fulfill the dreams of
their perents. They are the students who know how to make a balance
between studies and games. They know that exercise is good for health
and games are a better source of taking exercise. So they take part
in all the activities of the college. Infact they are the students
who enjoy the college life to its depths. They donot feel shy to
take part in speeches, because they know such activities boost up your
confidence level and it can be very handy for the future life when you
will have to work as a proffessional infront of a good number of skilled
persons. So I feel that love for college is good only when you are sincere
to yourself and studies otherwise there are only pains,but no gains.
